Welcome to the Malahide Horticultural Society

Upcoming Events

The weather has just let us know that Autumn has arrived. This means we recommence our new programme of talks for 2023/2024.

We start off with a talk by horticulturalist and environmentalist Aoife Munn. This is about gardening for the future from peat free composts to drought resistant plants that can withstand the more extreme weather conditions, planting that requires less maintenance and of course plants that will support our wonderful native wildlife. Discover the latest thinking in plant spacing and planting techniques and have all your gardening questions answered too.

NEW THINKING IN PLANTING Presented by : AOIFE MUNN

Wednesday 20 Sept at 8.00 PM
Venue : St Andrews Hall

Admission is 5 euro (cash only) which includes tea/coffee refreshments and an opportunity to catch up with friends. We will also have our usual raffle.

We are very fortunate to have Marie Staunton with us on Wed 18 Oct. So keep the date free!

Hope to see you all on 20 Sept which promises to be a very interesting talk given the changing weather and gardening conditions we have been experiencing of late.

Regards
Breda Duggan

About the Society

Malahide Horticultural Society was founded in 1942. In addition to regular friendly and informative meetings, and the annual Summer Show, the Society conducts a Winter Programme of Talks on gardening and environmental subjects. We also arrange Summer Tours and Outings to gardens of interest around the country. Some of these trips are to gardens not normally open to the public.

We hope as you browse through the site it will give you a taste of the Society and its activitiees, all of which are open to you. We are affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland and with the North County Dublin Horticultural Societies.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions, and join us on Facebook and Instagram for updates. If you don't already, why not come and join us at a meeting? We look forward to seeing you.
